• This William McSwain was the husband of Nancy Bridges, marrying her in1811.  William McSwain is the son of William David (II) McSwain andJudith A Moore.  William David is listed as only David in somesources.
  
  Paul Sarrett estimates year of birth based on 1800 and 1810 census.He gives 1793 as year of birth, based on age 7 in 1800 census and age17 in 1810 census.  Other sources give 1792, a common figure.  I amnot sure how Sarrett gets such exact ages, since the ages of theseearly censuses are just in a range of years, under 5, 5-15, 16-25,etc.
  
  Some genealogy compilations have confused this William McSwain withhis nephew William, born in 1806, son of this William's brother David. For example, Sarrett's report for Ainsley (or Ensley), son of William(1806) and his wife Judith Hamrick, is reported with the correctmother, but the father William is reported as born in 1793.
