Notes

• I found one Tugmon [sic] family genealogy that provides some detailsabout this family.  The story in the Notes gives us some goodbackground on Thomas and his family.  No sources are provided for thedetails or this story.  This must be from family tradition.  Thisgenealogy, while spotty, gave me names and some clues with which toidentify some of these individuals in the censuses that I otherwisedid not recognize.

  Story about Thomas as told by Donzella (Donzella step grandpa dad)Bill Felps. Story was told by Donzella to Joretta Tugmon.
  
  Thomas came from Ireland as a boy lost his parents on ship after hearrived he knew that the Irish came as bond servants. Worked offpassage cost must come in 1845 or 1846 at 10 years old 1880 in Texassaid they married in 1856 in Ohio. In Civil war days he had a fightwith a soldier while trying to protect a man and was shot in the jaw(he died cancer in jaw). She died [of] heat and starvation Maggie wasa little girl when Thomas and Margret bought their home north of SaintJo Texas in Montague County.

  The 1900 census reports Thomas and Margret living in Montague County.Their son John H Tugman and his wife Della Bohannon are in the samehousehold, with all their children
